A vehicle chase that started in lower Price Hill in Cincinnati ended on Fifth and Monmouth Street in Newport when the vehicle fleeing police struck four bystanders, killing two and injuring two.
Three suspects led police on a chase from Cincinnati over the Roebling Bridge at about 4:30 p.m.
Those three suspects are now in custody, sustaining minor injuries.
Cincinnati Chief of Police Eliot Isaac said the victims were “innocent citizens”. The two that were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
Police have not yet released the victims’ or suspects’ identities.
