A driver was seriously hurt early Wednesday morning when he flipped his pickup truck off the road into a creek bed in southern Campbell County, news sources are reporting.

Police say speed and slippery road conditions caused the 20-year-old driver to take his vehicle off Creek Trace Drive just after midnight.

The driver, who was found by emergency crews conscious and responsive, was taken to University Hospital, reports say. He was wearing a seatbelt, and drugs or alcohol are not suspected to have played a role in the accident.
