Kenton County has declared a Level One Snow Emergency until further notice.

Roadways are hazardous with blowing and/or drifting snow and may be icy, according to a news release.

During snow emergencies where snowfall accumulation is two inches or greater, no vehicle may be parked in any public road right of way.

Anyone in violation may be issued a citation and could be fined between $20 and $100.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory starting at 9 p.m. and lasting until 7 p.m. Saturday.

Snow will develop late Friday evening and continue overnight into Saturday morning with blowing and drifting snow possible through Saturday afternoon.

The National Weather Service predicts between two and four inches of snow in our area with winds out of the southwest at ten to twenty miles per hour with some gusts up to thirty miles per hour.

Temperatures will remain frigid in the coming days and it won’t be until late next week that highs reach the upper twenties.
