A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Northern Kentucky area, the National Weather Service said Monday.

Snow will develop after midnight and will increase in intensity and coverage early Tuesday morning. Low pressure is developing to the the south of us Tuesday night as an Arctic airmass begins to move into the region from the north. 

Snow is expected to end after sunrise on Tuesday. Two to four inches may accumulate.

In addition to the snowy forecast, temperatures will be dipping into the single digits this week and wind chills may make it feel like less than zero.

Here is your 7-day forecast:

MONDAY NIGHT Snow, mainly after 2 a.m. Low around 19. Northwest wind 6 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

TUESDAY Snow showers, mainly before 9 a.m. Temperature falling to around 12 by 5 p.m. Wind chill values as low as -3. North wind 14 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

TUESDAY NIGHT Mostly cloudy, with a low around 4. Wind chill values as low as -6. North wind 5 to 11 mph.

WEDNESDAY A chance of snow showers, mainly after 5 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
