Looking to get in the holiday spirit by touring some decorated historic homes? Well, the Ludlow Historic Society has you covered.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, the society is hosting a Christmas Home Tour and Walk from 4 to 8 p.m. The homes on the tour are near the Elm Street commercial district, the primary thoroughfare within the city. Shops and restaurants will be open that day.
Elmwood Hall, a Georgian-style home built in 1820 by the Carneal family, is the highlight of the tour. The home will be decorated by an antique expert, who is also the co-owner of the residence.
Other homes that will be featured on the tour were built in the early Railroad Era when Ludlow housed the railyard of the Cincinnati Southern Railway.
Attendees will receive a brochure detailing the architecture and history of each house. Following the tour, the Ludlow Community Center will be open from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for light refreshments. Additionally, Ludlow-inspired gifts will be available for purchase.
Tickets, priced at $25 for a single and $45 for a couple, are currently on sale at Ludlow Coffee, Taste on Elm, Reeves Market, Ideal Supply and Beelicious Honey Shop. They can also be purchased online at preserveludlow.org or picked up at the museum at 49 Elm St. on the day of the event.
Proceeds go toward the restoration of the Railyard Storehouse, the future home of the Heritage Museum and Event Center.
