We gave a simple prompt: Why Are You Running? Their answer is below.Â
Campbell County Jailer
By Chris MaloneyÂ
I am running for Campbell County Jailer because I feel the jail has serious problems that need to be addressed. I am willing to work as hard as I can to address them.
I am curious as to why anyone would run for office if their intention is to retire immediately after the election and appoint a successor. Would a move like that sidestep the mandatory audit required after someone leaves office? I really don’t know.
I do know that if the citizens of this county trust me with the responsibility of this office, I pledge to do my best to deserve that trust and serve my full term.
Will my opponent make the same pledge?
My name is Chris Maloney. I am not a politician, have absolutely no political experience and I have no desire to make this my career. I would like the opportunity to serve my community with the help of those who have worked in the system before and then go back to private life after I achieve what I feel needs to be done.
I would appreciate your support.
